Katherine Moore began work as a Client-Based Researcher in the SAMS Lab in March 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. At UAB, she conducted research in The Eating Motivation Lab (PI: Dr. Mary M. Boggiano) and The Science of Child Development and Neurodiversity (STARS) Lab (PI: Dr. Caroline G. Richter).
Her research interests include:
- optimizing patient care through precision medicine
- increasing the utilization of pharmacogenetic testing for guiding prescribing practices for psychiatric and chronic pain conditions, contributing to more holistic treatment plans &
- making this style of care an accessible standard to everyone seeking treatment
Her enthusiasm for teamwork and improving the lives of others make her a good fit for the work being done in the SAMS Lab.
In her free time, Katherine enjoys spending time with her nearest and dearest (including her cat Jiji), finding new tea spots, going on nature walks, bird watching, and trying new things.
